Toys R Us and Kenya
I finally got my hands on one of the Kenya dolls! These dolls have managed to escape my grasp for some time now! While shopping with one of my youngest nieces in Toys R Us ( I took her there to get an idea of what she wanted for Christmas and to scope out the sales :-0) I happened to eye spy Miss Kenya sitting on the shelf. I had seen several pictures of her online, however seeing it in person is quite different. Needless to say, I did not like the one that I saw so she stayed right there on that shelf! I goofed around with my niece for a bit and we left the store.
Acting silly with my niece Lailah |
Eye spied a dolly friend of mine! My my my, ya just never know who you will run into at Toys R Us LOL |
Silly Lailah.... |
Let me just put this out there! The comments here are my own opinion! I am in no way trying to
discourage anyone from purchasing or collecting this doll.
If this is your type of doll then go for it!
This is my blog, and MY Opinion! So having said that,
discourage anyone from purchasing or collecting this doll.

Continue on......
The following week, I still had that Kenya doll on my mind ! Toys R Us was having yet another sale so I dragged my hubby with me this time. I walked in and headed right to the spot where they had the Kenya gals.
I spotted the Fireside Chatting Kenya doll. Mmmm, this one had possibilities! She still was not the one I originally wanted, but she was on sale so she would do! Into the cart she went. I also picked up a Monster High doll and two of the new Fashionista Nikki chicks for body swaps.

Looking at her facial paint, I was reminded of why I dislike pink lips on darker dolls. Her facial paint had to go! |

Sharice's new wardrobe
Introducing Sharice
Sharice wanted a nice wardrobe, however she didn't want to spend the $70.00 bucks that Barbie Collector was selling it for. I helped her out and made one for her. Mind you the BC one is very lovely!
No disrespect to the ones that did buy it. I say enjoy it!! As for me, I am crafty and frugal when it
comes to certain things :-)
To make this , I used a Fashion Royalty box (formerly owned by Darius Reed) some craft board and spray paint. The rest is odds and ends from Michaels and dollar store stuff. The clothing and accessories
was stuff I have acquired over time :-)
Introducing Sharice. She is a S.I.S repaint |
Uggh, now I need to hire a hair dresser! I am having one of those crazy hair days! |

Lets Ride
Hey all, thanks for all your prayers and concern for me and my family during hurricane Sandy. We survived and thank God for it.
After the storm & once we got our lights & power back on, we opened our home to many folks in need of a hot cooked meal, warmth, charging of their electronics and a word of prayer.
I was inspired to do this next repaint after meeting a special little person during that time.
Her name is Lailah. Her family lives in the next development over from me. They were one of the families that came by for food and warmth for a few days. They just got their power back on today!
Lailah and her entire family were such a delight to get to know. Once I showed Lailah my doll room, I made a new friend for life LOL. I promised her that my next doll would be named after her.

Hey all, Instead of sitting in my house today waiting on hurricane Sandy, I decided to be creative and create. Besides, it totally takes my mind off my house shaking and pieces flying off!
Introducing Sandie
A huge piece of my house flew off and hit my car. |
Hubby brought it in the house and put in the garage to keep it from flying around out there! |
