Diorama's and a new repaint.

Hey guys, sorry its been a while since my last post. My day job has me running at full speed! Fighting crime has really been exhausting and has not left me with much time to spend with my repaints or dioramas :(
I did manage to get one diorama completed! I also have a few pics that were never posted of Danica and her friends in other completed dios.  I still have many more things in the works (including the finishing of the Chynadolls Dio) and a bedroom scene to say the least.
So many ideas and not enough hours in the day!

Well duty calls :)
I'm off to continue my crime fighting :)  Keep me in your prayers
Until next time..
blessings
Cecile :)

Introducing the Dio's and repaint :)

Danica

June and Jackie.
This dio was created using dollar store items and a cardboard box
Dollar store items are as follows:
Chairs (candle votives) material and a sock
was used for the cushion.
Table base (candle votive)
Glass table top
Shot glass holding the flower tree.
White dog (was originally brown and black)

The table flower was made using a cork from wine :)
Bar in back was made using a small box( that held staples )
It was covered in white contact paper and then had a mirror
with smaller square mirrors attached with a glue gun.
Lamps are made with beads, craft wire and paper.
Sparkle hanging design is a christmas ornament.
Tiles on floor are from home depot :)
Bar bottles are re-ment found on ebay
Backdrop is a cereal box cut open, covered with contact paper
and a picture of flowers printed on the computer.

This is a the before pic of a doll from the flea market.

During her makeover repaint

Introducing Janea
Her face was repainted using artistic acrylics/ pastels and
sealers.

A few interesting things about this set is the statue and
wall art.
This was made by using a printed image found on line (pic in frame)
Then the same color concept was used on the statue behind Janea.
The statue is a Ken body ( found in the flea market) The body was
in good shape, however the head was a mess and not able to be repainted. It had
permanent ink on the face etc! It was beyond my patience LOL.
I painted the body in a gun metal grey. Then applied paper
mixed with water and glue to adhere  it to the body. I added the colors that I wanted then I
sealed the entire body.

End Tables are made from craft paper rolled and glued
As well as the lamp shades. Lamp base is made from
beads and craft wire.

This dio was made using the following:
table base: small glass cup from dollar store.
Mirror top from craft store.
The chairs are made from using tomato sauce cans.
The label was removed and was replaced with
craft paper. It was then fitted with a back made using
cardboard and the same craft paper. The entire chair was
then painted white and fitted with a black and white
cushion made from material and a baby sock.
Flowers are from the dollar store as well. They were cut to
scale and fitted in different vases.

Fireplace was made using a cardboard box covered
with craft paper that has a raised finish.  Bottom
of the fireplace was cut out and fitted with black duck tape
and craft paper.

The abstract art on top of the fireplace was made using
beads and craft wire. Books were made using craft foam
and printed paper.

  3. Cecile, as always I'm thrilled with your work! You have such a great eye for what you can use for your dolly world. I don't remember seeing Ginger before, she and Janea are REALLY pretty. I liked seeing your pictures of your painting process too! I've started my demo doll from the CD I bought using the colors that she is using to illustrate her technique. It is very challenging, but I'm getting a kick out of it and can't wait to get through the whole process to see what I come out with. Hugs friend!

    1. Hi Debbie, thanks so much :) my inspiration comes from many places. I people watch, read magazines and watch some tv lol. Its mostly from watching people. I might see a style or look and try and recreate it. I work around lots of folks and have the traveling public in my face all the time lol so I get to see lots!! I am always expanding my mind and creativity to challenge myself for something new. Thanks for dropping by and following my blog :)

  14. I just love your Dios and Dolls! It should be a regular feature on your blog! I was amazed with the Ken body! Soo artistic! The furniture was great too! I had been looking at votives at another store that were way more than a dollar to do the same thing. I didn't want to spend what they were asking. I saw these votives last week at the dollar store and put them on my list for next week. I really would love to learn how you paint your faces!
