Self Portrait...

For my 100th blog post, I decided to have a bit of fun with my dolls. I recently saw a tag game on Flickr where folks were doing a self portrait using dolls. Well, I just had to create this. I recently acquired a few My Scene Madisons. I repainted three of those in a previous post so if you get a chance, check them out.

I love this doll! I know that most folks don't like the big heads, however if your going to try your hand at repainting, you should get Bratz or My Scene doll heads for the practice.

Ok so having said that, here is my self portrait in dolly world.

Try your hand at creating your self portrait using dolls. I would love to see what you guys come up with. I had a blast and cracked my self up with this tag game.

So... Tag Your It!

Introducing Chyna Doll,
the repaint artist by night :)

Chyna Doll is a My Scene Madison doll that has been repainted
using artistic acrylics and sealers.

Chyna Doll doing what she loves to do to relax,
work in her studio.

Chyna Doll is wearing a S.I.S Pastry outfit.
I changed up the design just a bit lol. The pic
on the front is one of my repainted dolls (also in a previous post)
The design on the leg is my logo from my business cards.

  3. Great job! I think you captured your essence quite well.

I've done something similar but repainting was not involved. I have chosen dolls from my collection that most resembled me during various stages of my youth. Maybe I'll share some of these images in a blog post soon and of course refer readers here.

Trust me, if I tried my hand at repainting a doll to look like me, it would be disasterous.

    1. Thanks Debbie, I would love to see those pics! The only thing missing from my dio is hubby walking in the studio shaking his head and walking back out! I did manage to seek a small pic of him in there on the desk! He cracked up!

    Worth a try ...

  7. When I commented on this picture in flickr, I sort of missed the self portrait part. That is so perfect! Love your studio space and your custom designed outfit! It would be easy to choose a doll for my self portrait, but I haven't a clue what I'd been doing. It would be cool to have me working on a small dio. If only I had the time.

    1. LoL, I know the feeling, Never enough time in the day to finish so many projects. Thats why I choose those the closest to me and focus on just those for the moment. Otherwise I will make myself crazy with all the stuff filling up my head at any given moment LOL

  8. Well, I definitely can't find the words to describe your work with your self portrait. In Spanish I would say "he flipado en colores"... You created a real wonder, and the dollie details are great!!!!!

  9. Hello from Spain: congratulations for this self-portrait. It is a wonderful doll and it is best to be like you. I like the workshop that you created. The clothing is worn away at the drawing. How did the mini Barbie has on hand??? Congratulations ... A great job. I could not choose a Barbie with which I look. Maybe Barbie Raquel ... I need time to think ... Keep in touch.
