Bratz... A repaint...

This is my first and second attempt at a Bratz repaint. They are sporting the original clothing (because I thought they were just too cute :) The first one has original handmade sterling silver jewelry. Both Bratz dolls were painted using artistic acrylics and sealers.
This is my first Bratz repaint. She won the
office lottery LOL.

This is my second Bratz repaint. She is the BFF
to the first repaint.

She is now sitting on my desk in my office at work.

BFF's getting ready to go spend their winnings.

  2. They turned out great! Bratz never looked so good. Do you ever take before pictures?

  3. I'm a huge Sasha fan and she looks great. I need to practice on some victims before I attempt to do this. I definitely love the eyes.

  4. @ Georgia, thank you. Go ahead and give repainting a try :) Let me suggest a few key things to keep in mind when you do get ready to start. First do your homework on eyes, lips and makeup to see just what colors go together etc. Second, use one or two dolls that you really don't care if they are messed up, they are just for practicing your hand at repainting. I purchased heads from Ebay just for this purpose, however a five dollar doll from Walmart etc will do. When I started my repainting, I chose larger type heads of dolls like the My Scene Barbies. The head, eyes and lips are larger than the other Barbie dolls. I also practiced on the Wee Three friends dolls. I will be posting pics of those repaints soon. The main thing is to practice, practice, practice and just have fun with it. Don't expect your first try at repainting to be perfect or even look good. My first one was scary. My husband laughed so hard, I wanted to cry LOL. Now when I repaint a new doll and it makes me money, I laugh all the way to the bank! Just have fun with it:)

@ Vanessa, I usually do take before pictures of my dolls but sometime in my rush to repaint them, I forget. If I can I will try to see If I can find these dolls again, snap a pic and post so you can see a before an after picture.

@ Dollz, I was never a Bratz fan, however when I went to visit my niece last week, she has a huge collection of the Sasha doll. I was checking them out and loved the fact that they had a huge head to practice on , and it was a new canvas for me to try painting on. I immediately ran out and purchased two of them. I took them out of the box and started painting right off. The first thing I noticed was that they had no nose definition! I was like what the Heck! So I had to paint tiny nostrils on them. It was too bizarre lol. Anyway, I will probably repaint a few more just to see how they turn out. I will def remember to take before pictures this time :)

  5. Thanks so much Chynadoll for all of your advice!! I will make this a priority on list and give it a try this month. What kind of sealer should I get? I have a 10.0 brush and acrylic paint from painting lips. I will take before pic and regardless of how bad/scary I will post...I think (lol!).

  6. No problem Georgia Girl. The sealer I use is by Liquitex as well as my paints. If your already painting those lips, the rest will be a snap :) If you have any questions, I am just a shout away LOL. By all means take before and after pics no matter what it looks like. It will show you what to do or not do down the road as well. Please post or at least send me a pic so I can take a peek. Have a blessed weekend.
