A new addition to the family :)

Last Saturday, I was given yet another doll baby to clean and fix up from Frannie. www.thriftstoredolls.blogspot.com
He was a bit messy when he arrived but after a wonderful bath and a little touch up here and there, he is a little cutie pie :) Thanks again Frannie for this lovely Thrift Store Find :)

This is how the little one arrived. I had not named
yet because looking at him in this state, it was hard to come up
with an appropriate name. My husband walked
in the room, looked at him and said to call him
ashy! I fell out of my chair laughing!!!
He was looking a bit dusty/ ashy in color
and had scary eyes and slightly
pinkish lips O_O !

Meet Dillon :)
Here he is after a nice bath & repainted full face.
I had to give him a total repainted face including
his skin tone to make him look less chalky/ashy/dusty
I then repainted his eyebrows and eyes and removed
the pinkish lip color and gave him a softer lip to match
his skin tone :)

I think he looks quite pleased with his new look.
He is wearing a thrift store find outfit onesie/bib
and sock for just three bucks.  It used to belong
to lil Rusty but I don't think he minds one bit.

Dillon & Alicia
My husband just looks at them now and shakes his head! *Mumbling something about extra folks
gonna have to start paying rent*!
He said they are taken over. He moved them off the couch and  put them
by the fireplace because he claims they keep looking at him
like they are hungry LOL

  2. Just a little background information on Dillon. He was marked Lakeshore 1987. Lakeshore is a School Supply company that made/still makes Ethnic Dolls for schools to teach diversity. I am almost sure he came with his original clothes.
I knew Chynadoll would make Dillon come to life. Her repaint is awesome! Love Hampton's quotes about the dolls!

  3. Dillon is just as cute as he can be. The whole makeover has done wonders for him. I do know what your husband means. My son does not like my 22" cutie either, especially when I have her sitting in the chair with the remote!!

  6. Great improvement.

Your doll family is growing by leaps and bounds. Be careful; they tend to multiply and take over space before you know it.

  10. I can't stop smiling because of your husband; he sounds just like mine and I have to keep my dolls in other rooms because he swears they're starring at him! You are SUCH a GIFTED artist and Dillon looks so cute and cuddly.

    1. Thank you:) I had him in the bed room on my dresser after I repainted him. I went to work and when I came home he magically made his way down stairs. Hubby moved him because he *Dillon* kept starring at him and making him nervous! Go figure! Guess Chuckie is still on lots of folks minds ha ha

  16. You can tell he likes his new look. He is just a smiling. Makes you just want to pick him up. I love his new hair. Great job all around. Tell your husband he has a new name; Hilarious Hampton. The majority of the men and boys in my life (after my divorce)had trouble with the doll eyes. Hampton is not alone. That's one of the reasons I don't have dolls throughout the house. I already have a dog that runs off men. I can't have dolls doing it, too.
